Choose Svalbard for a Summer Vacation

Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean, is different from your typical summer vacation destination. At Svalbard Experts, we’d invite you to see the land of the Midnight Sun. It bathes the Svalbard landscape with around-the-clock daylight, which means more time for wildlife safaris, hiking, and glacier walks. A remote wintery paradise, Svalbard has Arctic wildlife like reindeer, polar bears, and walruses in their natural habitat rather than in an enclosure at a zoo. You, too, can enjoy what Svalbard has to offer.

7-Day Summer Vacation Itinerary

Some people think a great summer holiday includes warm weather and sandy beaches, but a Svalbard summer vacation is something else entirely. Where else will you experience wildlife, adventure, and Arctic landscapes? A Svalbard summer 7- day vacation package proves that being cool is hot! Consider this trip if you want to see what the Arctic offers while enjoying the culture and guided tours. It’s the perfect trip when you want an unforgettable summer vacation.

Svalbard Summer Tour FAQ

Summer season runs from late May to early September, with the Midnight Sun shining 24 hours a day between late April and late August. This is the ideal time for boat trips, wildlife viewing, and exploring without the extreme winter cold.

Most visitors do not need a visa to enter Svalbard itself, but you may need one for Norway, as all travel to Svalbard goes via mainland Norway. Always check your country’s requirements before booking.

Even in summer, temperatures are cool (often between 3–10 °C / 37–50 °F). Bring layered clothing, a warm jacket, gloves, hat, comfortable walking shoes, and a camera with spare batteries.

Yes, Svalbard is generally safe for visitors. However, the Arctic environment is remote and wild, so guided tours are recommended. Local guides are trained in polar bear safety and equipped with necessary emergency gear.

Polar bears live year-round in Svalbard, but sightings depend on location, season, and luck. Summer tours focus more on walruses, seabirds, glaciers, and Arctic landscapes, but there is always a chance of a polar bear encounter.
