Your Svalbard winter vacation gets underway once you arrive in Longyearbyen. You’ll be transferred to a 4-star hotel to check in and then get the chance to explore before going to Camp Barentz for supper.

Northern Lights evening at Camp Barentz (3 hours): The evening ends on a high note with a Northern Lights experience you won’t soon, if ever, forget.

Included: Airport pickup, hotel transfer, Northern Lights tour, and supper.

Hike with a trip to an ice cave (5.5 hours): Your Svalbard winter vacation commences with hiking to one of the region’s ice caves. After a 2-hour hike going 350 meters uphill, you and others in the group will reach the ice cave’s entrance. As part of your winter vacation, you’ll explore the crystal-clear ice formations within the ice cave.

Included: Transfers, ice cave tour, safety equipment, warm beverages, and snacks.

Longyearbyen tour (4.5 hours): Take it from Svalbard Experts. The region is a photographer’s oasis. On your winter vacation to Svalbard, tap into your inner photography savant to capture scenes around Longyearbyen. You’ll be inspired by the majestic mountains and mining sites rich in historical significance. While enjoying the Arctic scenery, you can try fossil hunting. The Arctic’s unique light, particularly in the winter, has a photography-enhancing effect that’ll give your photos more depth.

Included: Transfers, guided photography tour, and hot beverages.

Dog Sledding (4 hours): Even if you’ve had the opportunity to try dog sledding before, the chances are you’ve never done it in Bolterdalen. Select your team of huskies and enjoy the snow-covered valleys. You might even glimpse Svalbard reindeer or polar foxes on your adventurous Svalbard winter vacation.

Included: Transfers, dog sledding tour, Arctic-grade winter gear, warm beverages, and biscuits.

Northern Lights safari (3 hours): Have you ever ridden on an electric snowmobile? When you book the Svalbard vacation package, you’ll get the chance to ride on the snow and under the stars with the Northern Lights as the backdrop. Because electric snowmobiles have electric motors rather than internal combustion engines, they emit much less noise. You won’t disturb the picturesque landscape while observing Arctic wildlife.

Included: Transfers, electric snowmobile tour, snowmobile suit, boots, gloves, helmet, hot beverages, and biscuits.

Coal Mine Number 3 (3 hours): A trip to Coal Mine Number 3 will familiarize you with how the coal mining industry factored into the development of Longyearbyen. You’ll take a closer look at the miners who once plied their trade in this frigid environment. History will spring to life as you learn more about this frozen wilderness than you’ll ever see in a textbook.

Included: Transfers, guided coal mine tour, and safety equipment.

Blomsterdalen Hike(4 hours): Day 7 is the final day of exploration on your Svalbard winter adventure. You’ll hike to Blomsterdalen to experience Adventfjorden and Global Seed Vault, a facility safeguarding the world’s plant biodiversity.

Included: Transfers, guided hike, snowshoes (if required), hot beverages, and biscuits.

All good things must come to an end, unfortunately. After your winter vacation, you’ll get a ride from your hotel to the airport to start your journey home. We trust it won’t be the last time you patronize Svalbard Experts since there are more Arctic journeys to enjoy.

Included: Airport transfer.
